Orange Peel Texture & AC Ducts Finished — Walls Taking Shape | The Concourse Ep 6 of 12
Day 18 and the house is really starting to look like a home.
In Episode 6, the walls have been textured with orange peel finish throughout most of the property, and the AC ductwork is officially closed up. But this episode also has a big behind-the-scenes story — we discovered that the back laundry room structure, which the county wanted demolished, actually has a legal permit from 1971. That discovery saved us thousands.
The kitchen needed the most attention for cleaning. Simple Green turned out to be the best product for smoke residue cleanup. All the attic cables are stapled and wiring is properly placed in boxes. Our drywall crew was meticulous — they marked areas that needed correction and fixed their own work before moving on.
We also share the reality of dealing with a picky inspector who held up our power over a grounding wire detail — while this former homeless encampment with 15+ squatters had been a nuisance to the county for months.
