Kitchen Cabinets, Countertops & Sink Installed — Almost Done! | The Concourse Ep 11 of 12

Day 39 and we are so close to the finish line. In Episode 11 of "Rehabbing The Concourse," the kitchen has come together beautifully, the bathrooms are getting tile, and the exterior is being completely transformed with fresh sod.

This is the highlight of the episode. The kitchen now has white shaker cabinets, crystal white countertops with a 6-inch backsplash, and a square stainless steel 50/50 sink — not a cheap round one. The drawers are soft-closing with plywood construction throughout, and the soffits are run all the way to the ceiling for maximum cabinet space. The hood is installed, all the handles are in (surprisingly time-consuming work that requires real precision), and the kitchen door has built-in panel blinds that open, close, and tilt.

The living room flooring is completely in with all molding and casing installed and painted — a daunting task that creates a really clean, finished look. We had to install 3/4 to 1 inch spacers on the door frames because the original plaster walls are much thicker than standard construction.

Bathroom 1 has tile going in, a new vanity and toilet, all plumbing fixtures, and towel racks I installed personally — they're so sturdy you could do pull-ups on them. Upstairs, the hot mop tar seal is being installed for waterproofing — critical on the second floor because a poor seal means water damage to the floor below. Both upstairs bedrooms are fully painted with carpet, light fixtures, double closets, and larger 2-inch blinds.

Outside is where the jaw drops. We installed over 800 square feet of fresh sod where there was nothing but dirt — plus a new sprinkler system with separate valves per zone and drip irrigation for the new plants. The fence is getting repaired and will be capped and painted to match the house, with a custom metal railing and front gate being fabricated.
